Packing It In For Diabetes

Diabetes can be a devastating disease, requiring constant attention to blood-sugar levels, stress, fitness and diet—but not all diabetes should be treated equally: While type-1 is attributed to genetics, type-2 is linked to poor diet and obesity, according to Mary Hollock, executive director of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Greater Dallas. Parents can lower their child’s risk for type-2 diabetes by providing low-calorie, low-fat meals for your family. But teaching kids healthy eating habits isn’t always easy.
