Forget what you think you know about the Windy City … it’s time to rediscover Chicago. Great for a long weekend or a full vacation, we promise there’s no shortage of ways to keep a family entertained.

Head to Wrigley Field for an authentic Cubs experience. Although there’s only one weekend during June to catch a home game during the day, there are plenty of opportunities for night games throughout the month. Or, take a tour of the historic field – those photos you’ll snap of your “team” in the dugout will be priceless.

city’s North Avenue Beach, where you’ll find everything from bike rentals to stroller beach mats. And then there’s Navy Pier. When the kids are all played out from the amusements and rides (150 foot-high Ferris wheel anyone?), kick back at the Pier’s pavilions and marvel at the fireworks and live music every Wednesday and Saturday evening this summer.

No trip to Chitown is complete without digging into a deep-dish pizza. Lou Malnati’s is one of the biggest players in the pizza game here. Its Lincoln Park location crafts perfect pies (you can even ship one home to enjoy later).
