Dining: Dickey's Barbecue Pit
VIBE: Dickey's is pure, traditional Texas barbecue served cafeteria-style. Kids feel at home in its casual and cheerful atmosphere, and they'll definitely make use of the rolls of paper towels at the tables for messy eaters. Televisions mounted throughout the dining room make this an ideal place to watch the Cowboys.
WHY IT'S TOT-FRIENDLY: Cafeteria-style service means you get your food with no waiting. The child’s plate includes one meat, one veggie and bread. Free soft-serve ice cream makes a yummy finish to the meal and a great reason to encourage your
tyke to finish his dinner!
BE SURE TO TRY: The brisket is lean and tender, equally good as a sandwich or on its own. Dickey’s boasts a variety of side items that differ from run-of-the-mill barbecue joints -- the baked potato casserole and the broccoli salad are particular favorites.
GOOD TO KNOW: If you have little ones in diapers, be prepared -- there are no changing tables in the restrooms. There is a drive-through available for meals on the go.
BEST TIMES TO GO WITH KIDS: Kids eat free all day Saturday and Sunday.
